Will Putin’s Russia Trigger WW3?

Mr Putin President of Russia has put the world in a perilous state, but will it trigger WW3? The Bible, God;s word to mankind, has predicted the future moves of Russia. These moves are written in the Old Testament prophecy of Ezekiel as well as other prophets. The prophet Ezekiel also predicted the rise of the Modern State of Israel, which shows that these prophecies can be trusted.

Come along and hear about the future of Russia, the world and you.

The Russian Plan for World Dominion Exposed by the Bible

The future of Russia is outlined in the book of Ezekiel in the Old Testament of the Bible. The current existence of the nation of Israel today is also foretold in that same book. The existence of Israel today proves the Bible to be the word of God and therefore the prophecies about the plan for world dominion by Russia can be relied upon. The ultimate result of Russia’s plan will be the kingdom of God on earth. Those who trust in the Bible and believe it will be saved and given eternal life. This is a wonderful hope offered to all people. Come and hear about Russia’s plans and the evidence for this hope as outlined below.

Can We Communicate with the Dead?

His sister died in distressing circumstances, alone in a remote rural property, and when he visited – to feed the cat and tidy up a little – he thought he heard voices as he entered. There was no one there, but whenever he next visited that conviction grew. Was his sister trying to communicate with him? Trying to tell him something? Wanting to say ‘Goodbye’? If so, how could he reach her?

That sense of loss and regret is common to many of us, especially when the death of a loved one occurs unexpectedly. But is there an opportunity to cross the line that separates the living and the dead? And what do those who claim to have communicated with people in the afterlife find out about life ‘on the other side’? This booklet seeks to answer those questions by looking at Bible teaching about the state of the dead, the hope of a future life, and whether it is advisable to try and contact people who have passed away. It starts with an account of a vigorous attempt that was made to make such contact.

Getting to Know God What the Bible Reveals

Many people say they believe in God but if you ask them what they believe about him, an almost incredible vagueness emerges. Their general view of God reflects their view of themselves. Most people are inclined to be indulgent towards their own failings and they think of God in the same way. ‘I like to think of God’, they say, ‘as infinitely kind, always forgiving and never condemning anyone, even wrongdoers’. Others say, ‘Well, if God exists, and I do what I think is right, I shall get whatever reward there is’

This booklet is written especially for those who confess that they believe in the God worshipped by Christians but who may not have thought much about His nature. What is God like? What are His attributes and characteristics? If we can discover the answers to these questions, it could make a profound difference to the way we revere and worship the Almighty Creator, the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Just to give some idea of what follows, we hope to show that God — the God of the Bible — is …

Heaven and Hell — What Does the Bible Teach

The Bible is a reasonable book. There is nothing contradictory about it: everything fits together in a manner that makes its message both dynamic and easy to understand. Its teachings make sense and it is this simple logic that presents such a challenge that no one of good will can deny its impact. This booklet has been written to show that — in contrast to the plain and reasonable teaching of scripture — popular ideas about heaven and hell are unreasonable. What are these ideas? For centuries it has been commonly believed by most professing Christians that heaven is the abode of the righteous dead where they experience everlasting joy and happiness, and that hell is the eternal abiding place of the wicked who are subject to never-ending torment in its unquenchable fires. In more recent times many have abandoned the idea of hell — and with it any real desire to investigate whether this is, in fact, a true reflection of what the Bible teaches. This abhorrence of eternal suffering (surely a right instinct) has caused men to cherish instead a vague hope of universal salvation — that all will enjoy eternal happiness irrespective of the works done during their mortal life, Yet that has now left people with a sense of unease, because they sense an injustice in assuming the there can be a reward for both good and bad alike.

Christadelphians do not share either the modern idea of ‘heaven for everyone’, or the more traditional ideas of ‘blessings in heaven’ and ‘punishments in hell’. They have read the Bible themselves (as we hope the readers of this booklet will do) and conclude that, although ‘heaven’ and ‘hell’ are mentioned many times, they are not the eternal abiding places where people hope (or fear) to go to at death.

A grievous error has been made in interpreting the Bible. But the error is not first of all concerned with heaven or hell; the error really grew out of another theory, that all men are born with …

The Holy Spirit — Bible Understanding of God’s Power

Who or what is the Holy Spirit? What part does the Holy Spirit occupy in the work of God? These are serious and deep questions. We must conduct our enquiry with reverence because we are searching into the things of God. All of our searching would be useless if God had not encouraged us to find out as much as we can by means of the Bible, which is His authoritative word. Let us discover what He has told us about His Spirit.

At the outset let us clarify whatever mystery or confusion may lie behind the word “Ghost” in the expression “Holy Ghost” in the King James (Authorised) version of the Bible. In Shakespeare’s day “ghost” was a current word for “spirit” and a spiritual advisor was called a “ghostly confessor”. Holy Ghost and Holy Spirit are translations of the same original words. The strange notions which now attach to our word “ghost” are not what the translators intended to convey. Later translations uniformly render the words, “Holy Spirit”.

Several expressions are to be found in the Bible which are descriptive of the Holy Spirit and these include: “The Spirit of God” (Genesis 1:2; Matthew 3:16); “The Spirit of the LORD” (Isaiah 11:2; Acts 8:39); “Thy good spirit” (Nehemiah 9:20); “The Spirit of the Lord GOD” (Isaiah 61:1); “His holy Spirit” (Isaiah 63:10,11); “The Spirit of your Father” (Matthew 10:20); “The Spirit (John 1:32); “The holy Spirit of God” (Ephesians 4:30); and “The power of the Lord” (Luke 5:17). The terms, God the Holy Ghost, or God the Holy Spirit, are not to be found in the Bible. Nevertheless, there is a strong link between …

Hope for a Hopeless World — The Marvellous Message of the Bible

Open a newspaper these days, listen to the news on radio or TV, and invariably you get the impression of trouble. Our world is torn by strife – strife between political parties; strife between ethnic factions; strife between nations. It is beset by problems – hunger, pollution of land and water, and ever present violence; problems of society, revealed by increasing crime rates and over-crowded prisons; by hospitals filled with patients, many of whom are there because of mental stress; and by an alarming number of victims of drug abuse and alcoholism. Looming over all is the frequent threat of economic crisis, with widespread unemployment and material hardship. The “under-developed nations” are in debt to the world banks (that is, chiefly those of America and Western Europe) to staggering sums running into billions of dollars, with no prospect of ever being able to repay the loans.

21st Century World Trouble

But there is one feature above all which reveals the hopelessness of the world’s condition. If a visitor from another planet were to come and examine affairs on earth, he would find …

Is There a God? — Consider the Evidence

A few years ago London’s red buses suddenly sprouted a rash of large print adverts. These words shouted at you: “There’s probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life.” The banners had been paid for by the British Humanist Association, backed by famous atheists such as Richard Dawkins. Clearly the message was that if you believe in God your life will be miserable, and you will not be able to enjoy yourself. Of course there were many responses to the campaign, and it provoked discussion for weeks afterward. But this is a subject that concerns us all. We have to have a point of view, Do we personally believe in a God, and if we do not, what difference is it going to make?

First, though, we need to define what we mean by ‘God’. From antiquity, men have worshipped the sun, or constructed idols of men, women and animals and bowed down to them. This kind of god we would probably dismiss as primitive superstition. You could argue, too, that people today have made gods out of sport stars, or fast cars, or shopping, to all of which they devote much time and money. But the kind of god the humanists behind the London bus campaign meant was the Christian God, the God of the followers of Jesus. For the purpose of this discussion we are going to assume that this is the God of the Bible, a book which claims to be His revelation to mankind. Of course, you may dismiss this claim as fanciful. But if you think about it, if there is a God out there who really did make heaven and earth, plants, animals and humans, He would surely have communicated with the people He had made. The Bible records …

Israel — God’s People — God’s Land

The old man stood high on the hillside, the Israelites below him hushed and expectant as they waited for him to continue. These were his people, the flock he had shepherded for over 40 years. Moses’ voice rang cjear through the desert air: “The LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for his own possession, out of all the peoples that are on the face of the earth” (Deuteronomy 7:6).

“It was not because you were more in number than any other people,” he reminded them. Numbers have never mattered to God. Quality is more important than quantity, to Him. “It is because the LORD loves you,” he went on, “and is keeping the oath which he swore to your fathers, that the LORD has brought you out with a mighty hand” (verses 7,8). How He had loved them, in spite of their rebellious spirit, their hankering after the Egypt from which He had called them out! Those decades of eating manna, enduring discipline and wandering in the wilderness had finally forged the Children of Israel into a unique nation, a people with a history and a destiny.

The Chosen Nation

Was Moses being too starry-eyed, too close to the Israelites to see things in perspective, when he spoke of them as the “chosen people”? The answer is …
